This week, we turn our attention to Brooklyn/Toronto duo New Look, who this past year made some appearances out in the blogosphere witht heir EP How's My Hair?. Sarah and Adam return with a new self-produced single "Function Of Your Love", which you can download here. It's their best work to date and you can expect that a full-length, when it does come, will be monumental, now that they've got the WARP connection with Jimmy Edgar. He wrote the song, so technically it's a cover, and to make things even more meta, he's done his own remix.

For the next few weeks, instead of looking back at 2008, we'll spend each show playing tracks that will be sure to end up on high rotation in 2009 around the world.

I see 2009 as a year where little city-states will become the new havens for innovation in music. Bedroom producers, unaffiliated artists and local crews will end up making waves, but there will be no dominant scene from any city or country, and no single sub-genre that will reign over others. As a result, the popularity of dance music will continue to spread in a very healthy and decentralized fashion.

In Toronto, we have Parallels, TMDP, Mansion, and Pilotpriest to look forward to, and over the coming weeks, we'll be doing our best to find more.
